Top 3 Favorite People | #3 | Marat Safin
Usually, everything works quite differently than expected. I am totally happy with any scenario. In the unpredictable lies all the sweetness of adventure. Life is a great thing, with new knowledge, meetings, feelings, changes. You can travel, make friends, visit people. What more do you want?

Q: Do you pay attention to girls’ clothes?
M: I like girls who are dressed simply and without tons of make-up. And there is no need to fix the hair in a special style. I don’t like it, when at 10 h in the morning, the girl looks like, as if she’s going to a ball. Why would you need high heels all day? Unnecessary things should not be worn! jeans, Converse, all is simple and nice. Not the clothes make the man, but the personality.

Marat discussing the chances of Russia for the Fed Cup!

Our Fed Cup team are in fine form. Well, some of the girls could’ve done better at the Australian Open, but I’m pretty sure that they can handle France and stand a good chance of winning through. They are all experienced and know what they want and how to achieve this. So I don’t think they’ll have any problems, but it doesn’t mean they’ll take it lightly. Let them do their thing and it’ll be OK.”

Looking good in that checkered shirt, bb (such a weakness of mine lol)!

This is a video from earlier this year but I thought I’d share it with everyone.

Marat talks about not missing the tour, his plans for the present/future for himself and for Russian tennis :)

quote

The only thing we have left in life before death - it’s memories. Not billions, not cars, not restaurants etc. – Is dealing with people and memories of them. Do not be afraid of something new, new acquaintances, because you never know what to find, but where you lose. Those memories you accumulate, and then, when thou shalt die, remember that you have lived a wonderful life.

In celebration of my other bb love Rafa’s birthday, I’ll be posting up some pictures of him with Maratik throughout the day :) I lament the lack of photo ops of them together, but I’ll try my best to provide you with what I have in my collection!
To begin, here is an excerpt from Marat’s latest interview with El Pais (which I’ll post up later today) talking about Rafa and Roland Garros:
Q: Who can beat Rafael Nadal at Roland Garros? M: It’s very complicated. Everyone knows that it is almost an impossible mission. You can only beat him in the first rounds. When he reaches the quarterfinals or semifinals it’s impossible. There he is a machine. Then, well …  they have to run! To suffer! They must try at least!

Marat’s “DE I” interview :)

Remember the magazine cover I posted a few days back? Thanks to the lovely people over at MTF we’ve finally got a translation of the interview!

Very long, but very satisfying :) CLICK THE LINK and you’ll be directed to the page with the translation (there are two translations, but scroll down for the one made by AnnieNik because the first is only Google-translated)!

I was going to post it here, but I figured it’d be too long and you might crucify me ;p If, however, there are those who’d like to have it up here anyway, let me know?

This past weekend a fan asked Marat Safin at the Caeser’s Palace tennis exhibition how much he has to do with sister Dinara Safina’s tennis career. His answer:
“Zero. But she’s texted me 5x to buy an iPad for her. Delivery boy.”
